I woke up in the middle of the night some time ago and couldn’t go back to sleep, so I turned on the TV. Usually that puts me to sleep because it keeps me from thinking about what happened that day or what I need to do the next day. It didn’t work this time.

A replay of Oprah was on. The unsuspecting audience members were pleasantly surprised to find they were on her “favorite things” show.  What a wonderful act of giving on Oprah’s part. The gifts were all top of the line.

I’ve been given a gift far greater than what Oprah gave that night.  Her money can’t buy it and it’s not just for a few people.

Jesus paid the price for a gift that even Oprah can’t afford.

That gift is eternal life and is for all who will accept it.

Romans 3:22-24 (New International Version)

22This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
